Identification Badge
A WellSpan Health ID badge is needed to gain access to certain areas, must be displayed at all times and returned at the end of your rotation. Instructions on how to obtain a WellSpan Health ID badge will be included in a confirmation letter.
Initial Orientation Session
WellSpan York Hospital Students must report to the Office of Medical Education at 10 a.m. on the first day of your rotation for a REQUIRED initial orientation. Directions will be included in a confirmation letter (email). WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital students will receive directions on where and when to report for orientation.
Parking
Free parking is available in several locations. Further instructions on where you are allowed to park will be given to you at your initial orientation with Medical Education at WellSpan York Hospital, or with Family Medicine at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
Beepers/Pagers
Pagers are issued by the Medical Education Office. New batteries may be obtained from the Medical Education Office or the Security Operations Center. Pagers must be returned at the completion of the rotation. Students are financially responsible for pagers issued to them. The replacement charge for lost beepers is $125.
Influenza Vaccinations
All rotators at WellSpan Health locations must receive a current influenza vaccination if the rotation includes any portion of the dates of October 1 to March 31. Verification must be received by Medical Education or your rotation Coordinator prior to arrival on campus. Medical exemption and religious exemption requests are reviewed. Please plan accordingly.
Food Services
While on rotation, WellSpan has a variety of venues to choose from. No free food is offered.

A medical librarian is available Monday through Friday during usual business hours.
Computer Access
There are PCs located in South Hall Dormitory, Hoover Medical Library, Reference Room and other locations throughout WellSpan York Hospital. WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital and WellSpan York Hospital have free public WiFi access.
