Why did I choose York Hospital's residency program?

The reason I was drawn to York's family medicine program was hands down the people who make up the program. I was able to feel welcomed by the residents even over the virtual meet and greets during interview season. I was also encouraged by the culture of respecting family medicine at York Hospital. Coming from a medical school where I did not feel that family medicine was treated well within the hospital by other specialties, it was good to hear that family medicine had a good relationship with other specialties at York. Last but not least, Dr. Robert was really a driving factor in my residency program decision. She is a passionate advocate for her residents and has created a program that emphasizes the importance of resident wellness as well as resident education. The down to earth, collegial atmosphere she has fostered here is a major selling point for this program.
