After serving as chief resident at Penn State-Good Samaritan Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program during the last year of his training, Dr Waheed joined his residency program as faculty. He assumed the role of Program Director at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in early 2018. Throughout his career, he has been accolated with numerous awards for exemplary and innovative teaching including “Exceptional Teacher & Role Model” by the medical students, multiple years consecutively. “Faculty Teacher of the Year” by the residents’ multiple times, Scholar in Education (SIE) award from OSLER office for innovation in medical education in 2015, and “Exemplary Teaching Award” by the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP) in 2020. He loves full scope family medicine, research and scholarship in graduate medical education, faculty development, and novel mentorship models. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. He frequently speaks and presents on regional and national forums like ACGME Annual Education Conference, STFM, AAFP, PAFP, and others He enjoys reading and writing on a wide variety of genres including medicine and health care, sociology, religion, philosophy, and humanities. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family and reading and writing poetry in Urdu.
