Dr. Rivera-Tovar received her degree in clinical psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical research at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh. She was director of the Premenstrual Syndrome Clinic at Western Psychiatric prior to coming to York Hospital.
Dr. Rivera-Tovar serves as a consultant and educator to residents on behavioral health aspects of care and in addition provides outpatient services to patients at the Family Practice Center, provides didactic presentations and is a consultant to residents on behavioral health aspects of patient care. Her areas of clinical and research interest include depressive and anxiety disorders, women's health, culture-sensitive approaches to health care and physician wellness.
