Scholarship

We are an independent academic medical center with a strong program of scholarship integrated into our department and residency program.  Residents are required to develop a project of their own, either original research or quality improvement.  They are expected to present their results at the end of the third year of residency.  We have a research department at York Hospital that provides support for resident research including statistical support and small research grants, and we have many potential research mentors within the department with skills encompassing all the major research modalities.  While we are not a large NIH funded research department, we have had peer-reviewed research publications, book chapters, and award winning presentations from residents and faculty every year.  Our residents have presented their projects at both local and national conferences, and we provide significant support to allow residents opportunities to showcase their work.
