GME Training Opportunities at WellSpan Health for Hahnemann University Hospital Residents

Dear Hahnemann Colleagues,

We are deeply saddened by the events unfolding at Hahnemann University Hospital.  As a Hahnemann/Drexel graduate, I have a very personal viewpoint of this situation – Hahnemann was the hospital where I trained as a medical student.  We have been long-standing Drexel University College of Medicine affiliates, and our WellSpan York Hospital site currently hosts a Regional Medical Campus of the College of Medicine.  We are here for you and will do everything we can to help during these trying times.  Please check with your Program Director and your Designated Institutional Official (DIO) to help with your decision-making.  We will do everything we can to provide available training positions within our current programs.  Please see the additional information on this website. 

WellSpan York Hospital is a 580 bed community academic hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center with endovascular neurosurgery capabilities, a certified Chest Pain Center with PCI and Resuscitation, a level III NICU, one of the busiest Emergency Departments in the state of Pennsylvania, and many other advanced medical and surgical specialties.  Our Residency Programs include Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Surgery.

WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, in Lebanon, PA, is a 172 bed community teaching hospital with an unopposed Family Medicine Residency Program.  A certified Primary Stroke Center and active surgical, women’s health, and oncology programs augment the excellent education available here.
