About WellSpan and WellSpan York Hospital

Wellspan is a seven-hospital system with over 1,400 licensed beds throughout Adams, York, and Franklin Counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania. WellSpan York Hospital is a 596-bed teaching hospital and is the central campus of this system. Located in York, Pennsylvania, WellSpan York Hospital was originally founded in 1880. Over the last 140 years, the hospital has grown to be the regional leader in advanced specialty care.  It is a level 1 trauma center, has a robust extracorporeal membrane oxygenation program (ELSO gold level distinction) and is a comprehensive stroke center.

WellSpan York Hospital has six dedicated cath labs, two cardiac surgery operating rooms, a hybrid operating room, 60 dedicated cardiac beds and an additional 20 cardiac and open-heart Intensive care beds.  The WEllSpan York Hospital Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery Groups include 22 cardiologists and four cardiac surgeons.

  • Cardiac Catheterizations - 2400
  • TAVR- 200-250
  • Echos – 16,000 (not including TEE)
  • TEEs- 1,000-1,100
  • Stress tests 6,500-7,000
  • Cardiac CT including 4D CT- > 2,000
  • Cardiac MRI- 700-800
